Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the “caveman diet”?
The caveman diet is a holistic way of eating based on the principle that humans “grew up” on certain kinds of foods (e.g., meat, vegetables, fruit & nuts) and that our bodies are therefore best able to digest and enjoy these kinds of foods, rather than ones that have been recently introduced into the human diet (like grains and dairy).

2. What are the ingredients of Cavemen Cookies?
The ingredients are: Honey, almond flour, walnuts, raisins, ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon.

3. Do the raisins in your cookies contain sulphur dioxide?
No! Like all the ingredients in Cavemen Cookies, they’re all-natural, with no preservatives.

4. What kind of honey do you use?
We start with raw, uncooked clover honey. However, our honey naturally gets cooked during the baking process.

5. How long will my cookies last?
Cavemen cookies are essentially just nuts, dried fruit and honey, so there’s nothing in them that can go bad or get stale. That being said, we recommend that you keep your cookies in a sealed container, in temperate conditions, and that you enjoy them within six months after purchase (if you can resist them that long!).

6. How many calories are in your cookies?
There are just 65 calories per cookie! See nutritional information below, for more information.

7. Will these cookies help me lose weight?
Well, we’re not going to guarantee anything, but Cavemen Cookies are an excellent way to satisfy your sweet tooth while also getting protein and fiber, which help you feel full. Best of all, protein and fiber are natural components of our cookies, and are not artificially added. Oh... and we also have it on good authority that cavemen and cavewomen had very attractive figures ;-)

8. There’s a lot of fat in your cookies – how can you claim that they’re actually healthy?
Great question! There are 11 grams of fat per serving of our cookies (that’s 5.5 grams per cookie). However, 95% of that fat is good fat — the polyunsaturated and monounsaturated kinds, which naturally occur in the nuts that we use to make Cavemen Cookies.

9. What is the nutritional breakdown of your cookies?
